My name is Lysanne and I live in the Netherlands with my boyfriend and our three cats. I have a bachelor's degree in Slavonic Studies (specialization: Russian) and a master's in Translation Studies (specialization: Czech) from the University of Amsterdam. I fell in love with the Czech language and culture during my studies, so I created Cesta do Česka (translation: The Road to Czechia). I wanted to not only share my knowledge but also increase it. I hope this website will be useful for people interested in the Czech language, literature, and culture. Translating literature is my passion and I'm currently participating in the CELA-project (2024-2027) for upcoming literary artists where I translate literature from Czech into Dutch. I will also be posting my own translation work here.​
